Simon is Maison Bergeron. Passionate about decorative arts in all its forms.
Following a University of Montreal honor’s degree in Art History, it is at the city’s most prominent antique dealer that he will deepen his knowledge and acquire exceptional items of decorative arts from around the world.
He will sit on the Acquisitions Committee for Canadian Art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in the early 2000s.
In the second half of his career he will represent two Toronto auction houses for the island of Montreal and its surroundings.
With the network and the experience, it is in the Summer of 2018 that he opens his gallery in Sutton in the Eastern Townships, recreating a small museum in his image.
Objects from around the world and from our historical Canadian culture, Simon offers a cabinet of world curiosities for the 21st century amateur and collector.
A selection of remarkable articles, all carriers of a unique story, and one he likes to tell.
We invite you to come and discover Maison Bergeron.
PS: Among art-related activities; Since 2016, Simon is Quebec’s coordinator for CVNHP, a Vermont-based association that awards scholarships to history societies, museums and other cultural and heritage projects in the Lake Champlain watershed territory, including the town of Sutton north of its neighboring US border.
